Straight from the cemetery in St. Henri is Vincent the Vampire, designed by the talented Jennie Lamond. He’s come out of his coffin just for you, to knit for the very special ghoul or ghost in your life.
Vincent is a cuddly Vampire with removable shirt, pants and cape. Embroidered details give him a face as evil or cute as you decide, and underpants for modesty.

Here he is in his more “natural state”, hee.
Vincent comes equipt with:

A full suit and bow tie!

Shoes and laces.

Cape!
Although Vincent does not use any overly complicated techniques, the sheer number of pieces and amount of assembly make him an advanced project.
You can find Vincent in our pattern store online. Happy Halloween everyone!

Christmas in July, huh? It must be, because it’s so darn cold in here on account of the new AIR CONDITIONING!!!!

(Around my neck: the first scarf I ever knit. On my hands: Fetching. On the needles: Can’t tell you, it’s a secret!)
I confess I’m loving Ariadne’s non-fibrous new arrival. What can I say, I’m a true Canadian girl, I’m just not built for this sun and heat. These days I can’t even sit outside on a cafe terrace and enjoy a cup of coffee without turning pinker than a ball of baby yarn. Witness the above photo. Look closely, that’s not a bra strap. That’s my BURN LINE.
All the more reason to head to Ariadne on this icky July day. And while I’m there I might as well plan my holiday gift knitting, since all that wool is on sale!
A sweater for Dad? He needs a new around-the-house cardigan to replace that Mr. Rogers-y thing he wears now… maybe out of O-Wool Classic?
Three little pigs for my niece, made of durable Cascade 220?
I won’t make the mistake I made a few years back and try to knit mittens for everyone. “Everyone” is an ambitious plan. A lot of people got balls of yarn and excuses from me that year. I must remember to keep the projects simple and my plans realistic. Maybe a few pairs of Fetchings, only for the very deserving. It only takes one dreamy ball of Lang Silk Dream to make a pair!
How many days til Christmas? 197? Ok, I think I’ll get all this done in time…

Who’s that hiding in our store plant, looking coy? Why, it’s
Gertrude Tallulah McStretcherson! Our newest addition to the Ariadne Petting Zoo, designed by the insanely talented Jennie Lamond!

If you have been in the store recently, you’ll have seen her hanging about with her pals. But now she’s ready to come home with you (in pattern form, of course!) and wants to brighten up your day with her cheery personality and sweet disposition.

Gertrude is knit out of a soft, lovely Alpaca / Wool blend and has a bit of ribbon and a button for her dress.

She’s another great addition to the Ariadne Petting Zoo: Patterns for almost any age! She’s a joy to have around, and we hope you like her too!

From the brilliant mind of our own Jennie Lamond:

Introducing the Three Little Pigs!
If you knit to Jennie’s gauge, one skein of Cascade 220 will give you one pig and one cardigan, and of course you can substitute any worsted weight yarn. If you don’t care about the size of your pig, you can use any kind of yarn you like - this is the beauty of knit toys. They’re availble for download as of yesterday.
These little pigs (informally they’re named Molly, Mary and Jennie) aren’t just the kind of pigs that sit around and eat all day, no no. They’re busy and committed to other pursuits:

We just can’t stop them dancing around the store with Lester, Muswell, Orange and some other friends you’ll meet soon. Here’s one last shot of the girls, gamely modelling for us:

We tried to get them to do the Miley Cyrus shot, but they were afraid of alienating the lucrative bible belt demographic.
