Do you have some adorable ragamuffins, a ton of sport-weight wool and a lot of time on your hands?
Fantastic! You can knit these outfits:

I like to imagine that this photo was shot in California, or somewhere in a place where they’ve never seen snow, let alone a snowman. Kudos to the kids for being amused instead of horrified.
And hey, the outfits DO look warm. God help you when you have to pee, but at least you wouldn’t have to take off the separate knitted “helmet”.
This outfit would be a bit more practical, I think:

Cute sweater, nice bonnet-thingy. The skirt is a leeetle short, but that’s OK! Why? Because the outfit also includes this:

Ahh, snuggly!

Yes, opine is a word. It means essentially to state your opinion on a subject.
And today’s subject is: knitting needles. I’m really curious to know your favorites and why. Brands, materials, dpns, circs, straights.
Why? So we can (try to) stock them, of course! Personally I’m a big fan of nickle-plated circs like Addis, Inox Express or Susan Bates Silverado. So, post a comment or email us at ariadneATariadneknitsDOTcom.
Thanks in advance for the free market research! I’ll be happy to make you a cup of recompensatory tea next time you come by.

We have a new and lovely addition to our ever-growing Ariadne Petting Zoo:
Ozark Lester by Jennie Eveleigh Lamond!

This blue-faced cutie is knit out of one skein of O-Wool Classic and one skein of Ozark Handspun.

His cute eyelids and little ears give him a heart warming look to him that will make you want to make a whole flock.

Lester is a PDF download and is available for $4.50! Take him home today and hug him, and pet him, and squeeze him! (you can name him George too, if you like).

Well who knew.
I was having a little wander around the internet when I uncovered a phenomena that I didn’t know about.
It all started for me with this news story. Never having been a smoker myself, it had never occurred to me that one could use knitting as an aid to quitting smoking.
But apparently I’ve been living under a rock. In fact, the UK goverment’s website links to this article to inspire you to set up your own group of like-minded crafsters.
Unfortunately, not all governments are so open-minded. Check out this attempted legislation in India (scroll down to the bottom of the page if you aren’t taken there directly).
And last, if you wish to render a tribute to Ol’ Smoky, click on the pic below (site possibly NSFW).
