    Spin in Public!

    June 11th, 2009 by ariadne

Another newsy post without pictures.  HOW BORING.  Pictures and fun will come again, I promise!

    Ahem.

June 13th is World Wide Knit in Public Day.  Because we’re subversive over here in St. Henri, I’ve decided that at Ariadne it will be a Spin in Public Day!

Come on down with your spindles (or wheels) any time after 1:00.  Weather permitting we can sit outside, or just hang out in the big windows.  I’m bringing my Victoria in, so there will be two wheels available.

In related news, Montreal Knits is having a WWKIP event on the 2oth, from 12:00 - 4:00pm at Portugal park at St. Laurent and Marie-Anne.  In case of a weather-related relocation, a note will be left on the gazebo . . . which may or may not self-destruct once you read it.

    Summer Schedule

    June 11th, 2009 by M.A.

I swear that one day I will write an entertaining post again.  Promise.

But for the time being, I just want to make y’all aware that we’re going to close for a few days over the summer.  Cause we can!  So, we will be closed:

    June 23, 24 (St. Jean-Baptiste)

June 30, July 1 (Canada Day)

July  27 -Aug 3 (Construction Holiday, much needed week off)

For those of you who are wondering what the heck the construction holiday is, it is a two week period at the end of July in which most construction work in the province stops.  The last two weeks of July are statistically the hottest, therefore it has been agreed by the province and the unions representing construction workers that no work needs to be done during this time - in fact, it is a mandatory holiday.   Because we in Quebec like to do things all at the same time (hello Moving Day), most people take vacation around then.
