n this two part class you will learn the fundamental techniques for knitting lace. In the first class I will talk about the different of lace traditions, construction methods, and the difference between lace knitting and knitted lace. This first session will focus on yarn and needle selection, provisional cast-ons, directional decreases, reading lace charts. You will be given a few lace charts to knit for the next session.

The second class will focus on knitted on edgings, cast-offs, picking up stitches. We will also look at finishing and blocking your lace. You will practice these techniques using the samples you've created.

No previous lace knitting is required. You just need to know how to knit and purl.
